About

A National Movement to Re-Deploy America's Wisdom

Millions of students need guidance. Millions of experienced Americans still have purpose, wisdom, and love to give. OWL — Opening Windows to Learning bridges that gap.

ARTF

OWL — Opening Windows to Learning is the flagship national initiative of the American Retired Teachers Foundation (ARTF), a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to honoring America's retired educators and re-deploying their wisdom to serve the next generation.

Through OWL and other ARTF programs, retired teachers, veterans, executives, and community leaders find renewed purpose by mentoring K–12 students in academics, character, and hope.

Our Origin

This is not ordinary tutoring. This is a movement.

Launched by the American Retired Teachers Foundation, OWL — Opening Windows to Learning exists because retired teachers, veterans, administrators, executives, and community leaders can become one of America's greatest untapped educational resources. We help students build academic strength, personal character, and belief in their own future.

Mission

To connect experienced adults with students who need academic support, life mentorship, character development, and hope.

Vision

A nation where every student has access to a wise, steady adult who helps them learn, grow, persevere, and succeed.
